Driving Global Change for Education and Sustainability

The World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2025 in Davos, Switzerland, will bring together influential leaders, policymakers, and innovators from around the world. Under the theme “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age,” the forum aims to tackle global challenges and find solutions that leverage technology and collaboration to build a more sustainable and equitable future. At this pivotal moment, People for Urban and Rural Education (PURE) will be represented by an exceptional delegation led by Dr. Shyla Talluri, Founder and CEO of PURE. Alongside her will be CFO Archana Purini, Chief Development Officer Hema Kanthamneni, and a group of award-winning PURE Youth Ambassadors.

This delegation will focus on advancing PURE’s mission to transform education and livelihoods in underserved communities, with particular emphasis on four key regions: the USA, Kenya, India, and Sierra Leone. Through strategic partnerships, dialogue, and innovative solutions, PURE aims to create lasting impact in these areas by addressing challenges in education, sustainability, and youth empowerment.

Aligning PURE’s Mission with WEF’s 2025 Sub-Themes

The WEF 2025 will be centered around five sub-themes that resonate with PURE’s global vision:

  1. Education, Skills, and Learning:
Education is at the heart of PURE’s mission. As a leader in education access for marginalized communities, PURE has established educational programs and initiatives that empower youth, teachers, and families. Through its engagement in Davos, PURE will be advocating for a global commitment to creating inclusive, quality education for all, particularly in regions like India and Kenya where access remains limited. Dr. Talluri and her team will share insights from PURE’s work to create scalable, sustainable education systems and will be exploring partnerships to expand these efforts.

  2. Climate Change and the Environment:
Addressing environmental challenges is critical to ensuring sustainable development. In this area, PURE’s initiatives aim not only to provide education but also to foster awareness about climate change and sustainability within local communities. PURE’s efforts in Sierra Leone, for example, focus on both education and community development, where youth leaders are trained to advocate for sustainable practices and environmental conservation. At WEF, PURE will seek to partner with governments and corporations to advance eco-friendly solutions that align with their educational programs.

  3. Global Health and Healthcare Systems:
PURE recognizes that education and health are interconnected. By empowering individuals through education, we lay the foundation for healthier communities. In regions such as Kenya, where healthcare access is often a barrier to growth, PURE’s health education initiatives work alongside its school programs to ensure that children and families are equipped with the knowledge to make informed health decisions. At WEF 2025, PURE will engage with global leaders and healthcare organizations to explore collaborative efforts to improve health outcomes through education.

  4. Technology, Innovation, and the Future of Work:
Technology plays a transformative role in education, and PURE has been a trailblazer in integrating digital tools into learning environments. Dr. Talluri and her team will highlight PURE’s efforts to prepare youth for the future of work through digital literacy programs and vocational training. The delegation will seek partnerships with tech companies to expand access to educational technologies and equip students in underserved communities with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

  5. Geopolitics and Global Cooperation:
Collaboration across borders is essential to addressing global challenges, and PURE has built a network of chapters across the USA, India, and beyond. PURE will leverage the opportunity at WEF to meet with heads of government, international organizations, and corporations to align efforts and expand its network of support. Through these collaborations, PURE aims to further its goal of fostering global partnerships that drive educational and social impact.

PURE’s Focus on Key Regions: USA, Kenya, India, and Sierra Leone

PURE’s involvement at the WEF will center on key regions where the need for transformative educational programs is critical. The USA, with its growing number of underserved communities, will remain a key focus, with PURE continuing its efforts to expand educational access through its youth chapters and programs.

In Kenya, PURE’s work focuses on bridging the education gap, particularly for marginalized groups in rural areas. By integrating technology and innovative teaching methods, PURE aims to equip youth with the skills needed to navigate the future workforce.

In India, PURE’s work is focused on providing educational resources and support for children in remote areas, particularly in the Kotthagudem forest region. Through sponsorship programs and local partnerships, PURE works to ensure that children in these underserved areas have the same opportunities for education and success as their urban counterparts.

Sierra Leone, a country recovering from years of conflict, has a pressing need for quality education that empowers young people and fosters social stability. PURE’s programs in Sierra Leone aim to strengthen educational infrastructure, increase access to schooling, and promote sustainable community development.

Meetings with Government Reps and Corporations

At the WEF 2025, Dr. Talluri and her team will meet with heads of government, corporate leaders, and key decision-makers to discuss ways to accelerate PURE’s efforts in these regions. The meetings will focus on creating synergies between public, private, and non-profit sectors to scale PURE’s impact and ensure that more children have access to education and opportunities for a better future.

By working closely with governments, corporations, and international organizations, PURE aims to create sustainable educational systems that are aligned with the needs of local communities. These partnerships will play a crucial role in shaping the future of education, particularly in regions that have been historically underserved.

A Call for Global Collaboration

As Dr. Talluri and her team prepare to represent PURE at the WEF 2025, the organization remains committed to its mission of providing quality education and promoting sustainable livelihoods in underserved communities. The World Economic Forum serves as a critical platform for bringing together global leaders and innovators to collaborate and find solutions to the challenges that our world faces. PURE’s participation in this forum underscores the organization’s dedication to being a driving force in creating a more equitable and sustainable future for all.

PURE’s delegation is excited about the conversations that will take place in Davos and looks forward to forming new partnerships that will help propel its mission forward. The work being done at PURE is vital not only to the regions it serves but also to the broader goal of creating a more just and sustainable world for future generations.

PURE is determined to leverage the “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age” theme to bring meaningful change to the educational landscape. Through powerful partnerships and focused dialogue, the delegation at WEF 2025 will play a critical role in shaping the future of education and social progress globally.
